Anime Pose Reference

Here is the collection of anime fighting poses, both girl/female and boy/male. I’ve interpreted fighting poses as poses where characters are holding objects, generally weapons. If you’re looking for something a little more dynamic, check out the Action Poses page.

Anime fighting poses are ones involving props, usually weapons. Some poses may be meant to be swords. Some may be meant to be guns. These are only guides though. If you wanted to, you could fill their hands with something more innocuous, like umbrellas or pool noodles.

Usage:

There is no required usage of these images. They are JPGs designed to copy and paste or look at as need be.

If you happen to be learning that’s why there is both the red and blue lines. The light blue lines show where parts of the anatomy are. The red lines show where skin lines would be.

If you just need a reference, all the anatomy has already been sorted out for you. I encourage tracing even. I think it’s a valid way to learn.

Don’t feel pressured to credit anything about using this images or this site. The whole point is a free library. Though if you found the site a handy resource, why not tell someone else? You might make learning and drawing easier for another artist.

Now if you’ve read this much, color me surprised that you had the patience to get this far. Now stop it and go draw.
